Andrew first started training in the martial arts when he was sixteen years old.
His first experience was in the Ninjutsu Dojo Taringa, which was on the west side
of
After the closure of the Ninjutsu Dojo, Andrew went on to train in the Kickboxing Gym.
After more then one year of training in the Gym, it too closed. He wanted more out of his
training then just punching and kicking. So he continued his search for a more traditional
martial art.
He found himself training in the Dojo of Aikido. Training here in Aikido was a
better option for Andrew but, he found there was still something missing.
Wanting a more complete combative art, he searched and found The Bujinkan Dojo (Ninjutsu)
in Strathpine. He was dedicated to his studies and trained three times per week. His study at
Bujinkan Strathpine went on for severals years before this Dojo closed also.
Andrew searched and found two Bujinkan Dojo on the west side of
Bujinkan was so great he found himself studying in both DojosEfor an extended period of time.
He studied up to five times per week.
In 2003, Andrew first travelled to
Dr Masaaki Hatsumi of The Bujinkan. After his third trip to
his own study group on the northside of Brisbane, Bujinkan Dojo North Brisbane.
Andrew has continued his studies in the Bujinkan by returning to Japan yearly since 2003.
All Andrews martial arts are complemented by twelve years in the security industry.
